Like the first Nock in America, William Nock of Accomack Virginia, Thomas Nock was born in England. He immigrated to the Colonies and settled in New Hampshire.
hello, i was wondering how to enter your site or see you names and index? i am related to the Nock family here in the New England area and i would be nice to see how many if any of my family line is in your writings on the family genealogy i do come right from Thomas Knox. could you please reach out and contact me. thank you, lois martell-michaud
Though it does appear that William Nock of Accomack County, Virginia was the first Nock in America, there were Nocks in New England very early as well. Thomas Nock was an example of this.
So I have traced my family line back to Thomas Nock along the paternal line. Is there anything more known about anyone before that. My name is Dennis Nocks.
Dennis, I have yet to find anything. The information available on the Nocks in New England and Virginia is limited. There does however, seem to be quite a bit more info on the Virginia Nocks.
I will let you know if I find any more info on the Thomas Nock line.
Hello, my name is Rhett. I am a descendant of the Nock family. I was wanting to know if this is a book or not? I would love to purchase and read it if possible.
Hello Rhett, its nice to me. I have been studying Nock history for the last ten to twelve years. I’ve found quite a bit of information, but much of it I’ve had to piecemeal it together from many sources. The Nocks are not a huge clan as Smith’s, or Jones’, or Johnson’s are, for example. Its not been an easy task. The information on Thomas Nock I got from a particular source, and as far as I know, it was not part of a specific book. I wish I did have more information for you, but I don’t. I’m wondering, are you a descendant of the New England Nocks, or perhaps the Eastern Shore Nocks?
The Nock family I am related too are from Virginia. More specifically, Accomac County, Virginia. Like you said, that surname is very different and not as common as Johnson or Smith. As soon as I saw that surname,.I was instantly intrigued and wanted find out more about that branch of the family tree. At the moment, I’m just looking through documents to see if I can find out about that side of the family. Not having much luck at moment, but perseverance pays off.
