My Family, the countdown has begun. We will all soon have access to the 1940 Census. We will finally be able to research our family members born between 1930, and 1940. Up to now, that information has not been available to the general public.

If you are a resident of the Virginia Shore or just visiting, stop in to the Eastern Shore of Virginia Historical Society in Onancock, Virginia in the county of Accomack. It is definitely worth it!

An excellent essay on the history of Methodism on the Virginia Shore. It had a significant impact on both Whites and Blacks on a number of levels.
Hello Nocks, I’m really excited today. We’ve recently passed the one year anniversary of the Nock Family Heritage website. We originally began on Facebook about a year and a half ago. I then felt it important to provide access to this information to those who may not have a Facebook account. Of course, I was not sure if a website could stand on it’s own, apart from Facebook. Well, after one year and over 2000 hits, that question has been answered. I cannot tell you how much I appreciate everyone who has supported this website. I love our extended Nock Family, and enjoy learning of our unique family history and culture. Clearly, many of you do as well. Thank you again my family. This website could not succeed without all of you.

It is quite amazing how much publicity this project has been getting. We will continue to promote it here at Nock Family Heritage. It is so important that we all know who our ancestors really were. Without this information, we are like a tree without roots.

A reminder of a very important resource for us, The Virginia Historical Society. It is a tremendous organization with a wealth of information on the history of Virginia and her people. That is very relevant since most of us in this group trace our family ancestry back to the state of Virginia. They offer many free lectures and workshops, both in person and online. The V.H.S. has a wealth of information relating to our history. Check it out if you have not already done so.
