A few months ago Nock Family heritage moved from just having a Facebook page, to launching this website. We have certainly been pleased with the response that we have received from the site. So, for those of you who ”tweet”, Nock Family Heritage is now on Twitter. If you go to twitter.com and search Nock Family Heritage you will find us. This is part of our continuing effort to make this information as accessible to you as possible. Thank you

Unknown No Longer – Virginia Historical Society

The majority of African-American Nocks can trace their roots back to Virginia. Most who wish to trace their roots eventually hit a brick wall once they get back to the Slave period. If one was a slave, you were considered property, therefore, you would not be counted in the Census. This has made family research very difficult for the descendants of American slaves. This new database will hopefully, help to change that. This is a big deal my friends.

September 11, 2001…So many things rush through my mind. The planes hitting the buildings, and most of us seeing, but not believing what was happening. Seeing the Firefighters and Police Officers rushing into the Trade Centers, disregarding their own lives. The way the country came together afterward. Let us pray for the families of the victims, and those first-responders now suffering with illnesses related to 9-11. God bless America
